Job Title:Production Supervisor - IL

Description: The Production Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining operating procedures and process controls, and directing the activities in the operating units in order to manufacture and ship products to customers in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and cost effective manner.


In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the Production Supervisor is empowered to manage work priority, engage the proper resources to develop and implement equipment, process, and administrative standards, identify training opportunities throughout the plant. The Production Supervisor will monitor department metrics relative to safety, environment, reliability, quality, efficiency, and cost control in order to continually improve performance.



  • Ensure all policies, guidelines and standards are practiced and enforced
  • Report all incidents immediately to initiate mitigation and investigation
  • Incident investigation and mitigation to prevent recurrence
  • Recognize and reward employees that demonstrate outstanding HSE&S behavior
  • Complete and conduct applicable training as needed
  • Audit participation and mitigation



  • Operator Training Program
  • Generate and audit start up, shutdown, emergency and routine standard operating procedures (SOP) and checklists
  • Drive efficient Raw Material and Utility usage
  • Supervise operator condition monitoring for optimal plant efficiency
  • Participate in problem solving and improvement brainstorming to identify productivity projects
  • Participate in management team project list and strive for timely completion

  • Excellent safety standards
  • BS in Chemical Engineering strongly preferred but not required for qualified candidates
  • Chemical manufacturing experience strongly preferred but not required for qualified candidates
  • Supervisor skills and experience

  • Verbal and written communication skills with multiple levels in the organization and external suppliers
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills

  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project



  • Experience working in a corrosive environment
  • Experience working in a PSM and RMP facility
  • Experience in HAZOPs
  • Experience in Total Productive Maintenance, Six Sigma, 5S, RCFA, FMECA or RCM
