Position:              Corporate Recruiter


Description:  The Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization, salary and hourly. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, growing organization skills in identifying and onboarding talent and developing sufficient recruiting resources for meeting organization manpower needs.  The Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring that PVS Chemicals Inc. is hiring the best possible talent in support of current needs as well as organization growth.

Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

  • Serve as organization resource for developing interviewing skills and other candidate assessment processes.
  • Create job descriptions and collaborates with hiring manager in preparation and approval of job requisition
  • Manages the internal job posting program. Under this program openings at all levels are posted, and employees can apply for any position for which they are qualified.
  • Post openings through utilization of the Internet and other means of social media for recruitment.
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Manage the approved usage of recruiters and headhunters.
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements, Pre-screen and forward to hiring manager for consideration.
  • Assist in preparing and sending offer packages.
  • Assist in performing reference and background checks for potential employees.
  • Follow up with the related aspects of new hires, such as completing of health, employment, and insurance forms, notifying the department of employee’s starting date and the requisition the employee is filling, etc.
  • Orientation of new employees, and coordinate onboarding processes for new employees
  • Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings including college recruitment.
  • Completion of weekly report on employment activity.
  • Participate in other activities and assignments as necessary.
  • Ownership of the end-to-end process from advertisement of positions to strategy related to recruiting technologies and software.

Complexity of Duties

  • Chemical manufacturing and distribution focus requires basic technical knowledge and understanding of the industry.
  • Multiple – unit organization, geographically dispersed
  • Values – driven culture, with a primary emphasis on safety
  • Blend of primary recruiting duties with generalist assignments in human resources as necessary

Required Education / Competencies / Equivalent Experience (Prior to hire / transfer):

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources – related program.
  • Corporate recruiting experience
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor, ethical conduct and excellent reputation for integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate, influence and negotiate with others.
  • Ability to coach and train managers in appropriate interview techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Considerable skill in interviewing and assessment techniques
  • Knowledgeable in most recent social media applications related to recruiting and networking
  • Proficient with MS Office applications; especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Action oriented with attention to detail.
  • Ability to be hands-on as well as strategic.

Location / Reporting Relationship

The position is based at PVS Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, and reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.
