There is an opening for a Millwright position.  The duties for this position include but are not limited to:

 

Essential Skills/ Responsibilities

 

  • Safely repair and maintain all rotating equipment.
  • Follow all established OSHA PSM Guidelines and documented procedures.
  • Adhere to all policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Understand Responsible Care and RMP requirements for Sulfuric Process.
  • Complete or assist in completing Life Critical Permits as needed: JSA, LOTO, Line Breaking, etc.
  • Wear appropriate PPE for task at hand and conduct responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with competing priorities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter able to work alone and in groups
  • Ability to promote a safe and reliable workplace
  • Good time management skills and work ethic
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Physically able to handle the challenges of the work floor (climbing stairs, able to wear respirator, etc.)
  • Other responsibilities assigned by management

 

 

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Excellent safety behavior
  • 24 Hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Respirator Fit Test
  • Participate in training for handling Hazardous Materials, Plant Safety Procedures, Proper Use of PPE, Process Safety Management & the Process Safety Code, Responsible Care, Site Security, forklift safety, respiratory protection, and other training classes as applicable.
  • Install, repair, maintain & troubleshoot rotating equipment in the PVS Chemical Solutions facility.
  • Prevent breakdowns by inspecting, cleaning, and performing preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Support other plant mechanical and maintenance activities, such as shutdown tasks, equipment cleaning tasks and some general labor tasks.
  • Maintain records for installations, calibrations, preventive maintenance, equipment history, repair history, other.  May include the direct or indirect use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, aka emaint ).

  • Maintain spare parts and a spare parts inventory.
  • Interact with Supervisors and Technical Department to promote safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Aid in the selection of replacement or new equipment.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment, including but not limited to: aerial manlifts and forklifts.  Candidate cannot have any physical restrictions that would prevent a license to operate any of this equipment from being obtained.
  • Promote a safe workplace and follow good safety practices in all above duties. Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Lockout Tagout, Line Breaking, Confined Space, Burning & Welding, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to keep the workplace safe & organized.

 

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • The ideal candidate would have welding experience.
  • Be mechanically inclined with a strong maintenance background.  Must be able to perform basic plant maintenance tasks without close supervision.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Demonstration of common sense.
  • Disposed to avoid unnecessary risks.
  • Proficiency in basic written communication skills.
  • Willingness to change priorities immediately.
  • Efficiency in climbing stairs and ladders and capacity to work under extreme hot/cold conditions or near moving equipment. Job requires working in all outdoor weather conditions, as well as rain and snow.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Physically able to handle the challenges of the work floor (operate a forklift, climbing stairs, able to wear respirator, etc.)
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: chemical protective suits, goggles, fall protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection. Individual must be capable of and receive clearance for wearing a respirator.

  • Good time management skills and work ethic
  • Must be available for emergency work and overtime
