It All Started One Day in 1945

There Was a Family Man, With His Friends and a Dream

Founded by Floyd A. “Nick” Nicholson and his partners in 1945, PVS Chemicals is now a global manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of high-quality chemical products. The company was originally established as Pressure Vessel Service, Inc. in Detroit to clean boilers and pressure vessels. During the late 1940's and 1950's Mr. Nicholson entered the chemical distribution business by delivering hydrochloric acid he had once used to clean the pressure vessels. In the 1960's the company ventured into sulfuric acid manufacturing by acquiring a manufacturing plant, and the rest is history.

PVS currently has more than 1,300 employees worldwide and has 14 manufacturing plants and several distribution facilities across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia. What PVS provides touches everyone in some unique way. Safety and sustainability have been always been at the forefront of our business. We provide innovative solutions, comprehensive support and added value to our customers.
